Philipp Scharfenberger is post-doctoral researcher and project leader at the Institute for Customer Insight. His research focuses on the relevance of consumption and ownership for consumers’ identity creation and manifestation. He is particularly interested in the combination of semiotic and psychological concepts and their transfer to consumer research. Philipp is responsible for various industry projects at the Center for Customer Insight, particularly in the field of branding. He has cooperated with a broad spectrum of companies in various industries (automotive, food retail, fashion, finance, hearing aid industry etc.). He is a lecturer on bachelor and master level at the University of St. Gallen.
