Christian Lang

Christian Lang is a Ph.D. candidate and research associate at the Institute for Customer Insight at the University of St. Gallen (ICI-HSG). Among many other things, he is responsible for the CAS Sports Management, an executive education program for former top athletes, managers from sports organizations and managers from the business world with an affinity for sports.

During his Bachelor’s (in Business Administration) and Master’s (in Marketing) at the University of St.Gallen, he gained first professional experience at regional SMEs and as a program manager at our institute. After successfully completing his master’s degree, he took over the position of director of studies CAS Sportmanagement and started this job in combination with his doctoral studies.

In his research and teaching, Christian Lang focuses on leading high-performance teams and sports management. He works together with various sports organizations including the German Bundesliga team FC Schalke 04. In his dissertation, he examines the success factors of a football coach and which leadership skills are required to obtain optimal team performance.
